Edward Premdas Pinto, Director- Research and Advocacy at Centre for Health and Social Justice, is a Human Rights advocate and Public Health practitioner- scholar, actively engaged in processes and social justice issues of the the communities of Dalit Women, rural unorgranised labourers and other disadvantaged communities for the last 22 years. He is one of the co-initiators of Jagrutha Mahila Sanghatan, the union of Dalit Women in Raichur district, Karnataka. As Advocacy and Research Director at CHSJ he is facilitating the thematic area of Community Action for Health Rights with a special focus on processes of community monitoring and accountability. He has been an active member of People's Health Movement (Jan Swasthya Abhiyan) in India.
