Rubi works with Feminist Approach to Technology’s Girls in STEM program, giving children STEM education. This year Rubi’s team has started classes directly within the community.
Rubi is a leader in her own right already, a member of the Board at FAT and a member of the Girls Advisory Council for Empower since 2018, where she gives strategic advice on the grant making strategy in India to best help adolescent girls.
She joined FAT as a participant in the Young Women Leadership Program in 2016 and completed all the levels successfully. In 2018, Rubi was an intern at FAT and used her stipend to pay for her college education. Now she is a Program Staff with the Girl’s in STEM program. She is the first girl in her family who has a full-time job. In 2017 Rubi and her friends started a campaign to discuss early and forced marriage and reproductive health, it was called Nanhi Bunde, (Little Drops).
